The Front Royal/Warren County Shelter for the Homeless

Welcome to the web site for the House of Hope, a Front Royal/Warren County shelter for the homeless. The shelter provides an opportunity for individuals to stay in a safe, clean, and secure place and to prepare to find housing, employment, and services offered within the community such as counseling, substance abuse and alcohol treatment, education, and health services. 

Mission Statement: 

The House of Hope is a cooperative venture of all elements of our community to serve the needs of the homeless in Front Royal and Warren County.

Objectives:

By working together through area churches, C-Cap, the Transitional Housing Project, state and local governments, community-based organizations, businesses, and individuals, the shelter seeks to meet the needs of the homeless in Front Royal and Warren County by focusing on the following:

  1. Providing housing for 1-3 days for emergency stays.
  2. Providing a temporary 30-120 day nurturing program which includes:

 

    • Assessing an individual’s needs according to physical and emotional needs, financial status, job experience and needs, and life skills.
    •  Creating a plan that includes the resident’s own goals.
    •  Coaching to assist the resident achieve goals.

           

  1. Providing food on a daily basis.
  1. Providing a supervised space.
  1. Working with existing organizations to provide shelter for specific needs, such as the  Shelter for Domestic Violence and Transitional Housing.
