The House of Hope; a brief documentary about the life and times of the people that make this such a important part of the community. I chose to express how the house has effected those around me other than myself; because the whole concept is helping others. That in itself will help ones personal growth…
I'm one of eight men in the residence known as "The House of Hope". Next door resides the Overnight Shelter,: which I think deserves a name itself, perhaps the reception or receiving unit. The fact you're in need of somewhere to sleep; makes the name "Overnight Shelter" redundant. Any way, since I've been there, I have seen more acts of random kindness than I've witness my entire life. People need to express love and kindness to counteract the madness, and senseless pursuit of selfishness.
People in general want to care, and the "House" gives them an opportunity to be humane. That in itself has effected me more than anything. I arrived bitter at the world, for what I perceived as an overall lack of compassion. I thought everyone was rude, greedy, and just plain asses. But, by God's graces my passion for life has been rekindled and I once again believe that man can one day get it together, more importantly I know that I can. So thank you House of Hope for renewing my faith in mankind.

A Letter of Thanks to the people of Front Royal and the surrounding areas. I am from Mountain City, Tennessee. I came to the House of Hope asking for help. About four months ago I suffered a stroke. I am now applying for disability.I had know where to go, or no one to turn to for help.
I was told about the House of Hope. He said that the people at the House of Hope, has help a lot of people with shelter, food, and clothes. The only clothes that I had was on my back, and the shoes on my feet. I now have clothes, food, and shelter. Hopefully I can get my disability and get my own apartment again.
I thank all of the House of Hope Representatives, the Town of Front Royal and the surrounding areas for there support in getting my life back together. The things that has happen to me please believe that it could happen to anyone.
No one can predict the future. From my heart thank all of you very, very much.
I was laid-off in December of 2008. I started receiving unemployment benefits, but I was having a hard time paying my child support, my rent, and other bills. My driver's license was also suspended - making it hard to improve my situation.
I came to The House of Hope in May of 2009. They are giving me a place to live while I work on improving my circumstances. Since I have been at the House of Hope. I have been able to keep paying my child support. I have paid $1300.00 in fines that made it able for me to have my driver's license re-instated. I have also recently found employment in the area.
I am on the way to getting back on my feet and I wouldn't be as far along as I am if not for "The House of Hope." I owe thanks not just to The House of Hope, but to Siggi Hep-Dax, Wanda Maloney, Al Lambert, and the many other volunteers that make it all possible as well. Thank you.
